Go green this Christmas!

Ways to green peace with your Christmas celebrating and be frugal at the same time:

The thing to remember most is this, don't be sucked in by commercialism. Reuse, recycle, make do. Use newspaper for wrapping paper. String instead of tape that can be reused.

Did you know that scientists have discovered peeling Scotch tape creates enough x-rays to x-ray a finger?

Read about it in the New York Times from Oct 28th, 2008 science section or click on the link below to go there.

Scotch Tape Unleashes X-Ray Power

Tell me that revelation won't make you think twice the next time you reach for the tape.

Give gifts that you didn't buy. Like gifts of time and service. Old fashioned good deed doing.

Opt for a live tree that you can plant afterwards.

Realize that less is more. Less hustling and bustling to plan and execute a 'perfect' party with all the trimmings means more time to actually enjoy having company over. Trust me, they do not care if you go all out or not.

Remember when wearing a real fur coat became a social taboo thanks to animal activists? Today the taboo is filling up the landfills with our excesses and creating toxic methane gas.

Retro, nostaligia is IN. Vintage items are hawt! It's politically correct!

Save gas and stay home. Play classic games with a Sega Genesis or a Nintendo Game Boy. Whip Grandma's lovely behind playing Ms. Pac Man because she knows how to play it! How do I know? Because that Grandma is ME. Bring it Sonny!
